Staff Sergeant Jason Morgan (Ret.) served with honor in the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command as an elite combat weatherman—a role so specialized that only 72 airmen are qualified at any given time. Attached to Army Special Forces and the 160th SOAR (Special Operations Aviation Regiment), Jason deployed globally in high-risk missions, operating in denied territories and behind enemy lines.
In 1999, while serving on a counter-narcotics mission in South America, Jason's life was forever changed. During a supply run through the treacherous Andes Mountains, his vehicle plunged off a cliff while avoiding a threat. Thrown from the SUV and crushed when it rolled over him, Jason was left paralyzed, face down in contaminated water. Miraculously, an American missionary found him and helped save his life. Jason later slipped into a coma and awoke two months later to a new reality—one filled with pain, surgeries, and paralysis.
Despite the devastating injury and the amputation of his leg in 2014 due to infection, Jason refused to give up. He turned his suffering into strength, powered by his faith and the verse placed on his heart when he awoke from the coma: Isaiah 40:31. Jason now lives a purpose-driven life, inspiring others to do the same.
He is the best-selling co-author of A Dog Called Hope: A Wounded Warrior and the Dog Who Saved Him, published in seven countries and featured on the Today Show, Good Morning America, and This Morning in the UK. He has spoken across the U.S., Germany, England, and Scotland, delivering a message of resilience, hope, and unwavering purpose.
Jason is also the co-founder of Veterans Outpost, a 47-acre ranch used as a retreat in Texas providing healing experiences for disabled veterans, first responders, and their families. Alongside his service dog Yago, Jason also volunteers with children undergoing chemotherapy, bringing comfort and courage to young patients.
An accomplished adaptive athlete, Jason has competed in the Warrior Games for Team Air Force, completed long-distance races including the Marine Corps Marathon, and enjoys scuba diving, golf, snow skiing, water skiing, and more.
Today, Jason speaks to audiences of all backgrounds—military, corporate, faith-based, and youth—sharing a powerful testimony of overcoming impossible odds. His message is clear: you were made for more, and your greatest pain can lead to your greatest purpose.
Jason, his wife Kim and his loyal service dog Yago live in Nevada, Texas. They have five boys.
