"I met SSgt Jason Morgan in the Fall of 2019, after he spoke to an organization that supports wounded Veterans. He honored his commitment as the keynote speaker that night, even while spiking a high fever. He soon discovered he had an infection related to his multiple previous surgeries — the first major setback since the early years of his injuries — and it required several months of hospitalization. Months later, while on the mend, Jason spoke at a father-son lunch that I facilitated. The entire audience was mesmerized. One particular story Jason shared was finishing the Marine Corps Marathon, days after a lifesaving leg amputation, during which he endured hurricane-force winds and rain. In his words, he focused on “his abilities, not his disabilities”. This left an indelible impression upon all in attendance. Jason's story is one of relentless courage, tenacious perseverance, and a message of unwavering hope.
